Zyv-Studio · Background blur

Blur the background of product photos — keep the product sharp

Blur the background of a product photo and turn a cluttered kitchen counter or bedroom into a soft, out-of-focus wash while the product stays crisp — the look of an expensive lens, from any phone photo. You choose how much blur; the edges stay clean.

Product stays sharp No glowing halo at the edges Runs in your browser — never uploaded
How it works

Three steps, nothing to learn.

Upload, let it run, download. The editor opens with your image already loading.

Step 01

Drop the photo in

A product, a person or a pet in front of a background you would rather not show in detail.

Step 02

Set the strength

From a gentle softening to a fully melted background. The product is found automatically.

Step 03

Download

The same photo at the same size, with the background blurred and the subject untouched.

How it works

Blur without the tell-tale glow.

Most quick blur tools leave a bright ring around the subject. This one takes the subject out before blurring, so there is nothing to smear.

A clean plate first

The product is cut out and the gap it leaves is filled from the surroundings before anything is blurred — the reason there is no halo where product meets background.

Strength you control

A slider from a hint of softness to a heavy blur. Subtle usually sells better than extreme.

The same AI cut-out

The subject is found by the model behind our background remover, so fine edges stay where they belong.

Full resolution

The result is the size of the original — nothing cropped, nothing scaled down.

Private

Everything runs in your browser. The photo is never uploaded.

One editor

Blur, then enhance, watermark or compress the same image without starting again.

Made for

Where it helps.

Zyvavo is built by someone who sells on Etsy and eBay, so these are the jobs it was made for first.

Product photos taken at home

The sofa, the shelf, the kitchen — blurred, they become context instead of clutter.

Lifestyle shots

Keep the setting visible but secondary, so the product is unmistakably the point.

Profile and team photos

A blurred office or street behind a face looks professional in seconds.

Hiding private details

Blur away a recognisable room or a window view before you post.

Straight answers

What it handles well — and where it struggles.

No tool is perfect, and any page claiming otherwise is selling you something. Here is roughly where the line sits.

Reliable

One clear subject with space behind it

A product on a table with a room behind it, a portrait in a street. The separation is clean and the blur looks optical.

Usually fine

Subjects touching the background

A bag resting against a wall, a plant in front of shelves. Check where the subject meets the surface it stands on.

Hard

Several subjects, or no clear subject

A group of objects, or a landscape. The model has to choose what counts as the subject, and it may not choose what you would.

Better blurs

Five things worth knowing.

Small choices that make the result look like it came out of the camera.

  • Less is usually more. A strength of 8 to 14 reads as a real lens; past 20 starts to look like an effect.
  • Leave space behind the subject. The further the background is from the product, the more natural a strong blur looks.
  • Blur, then enhance. Run the enhancer afterwards to lift the light on the now-dominant subject.
  • Use it to hide clutter, not to fix focus. It softens the background; it cannot sharpen a product that was out of focus.
  • Keep the floor. If the product stands on a surface, a little visible surface keeps the photo believable.

Questions

Answered.

How do I blur the background of a photo?

Drop the photo in, choose a strength and run it. The subject is found by an AI model and kept sharp; everything else is blurred.

Why is there no halo around the subject?

Before blurring, the subject is removed and the space is filled from the surrounding background. Blurring that clean plate means the subject’s colours cannot spill outward.

Does it work on people and pets?

Yes. It was built for products, but any single clear subject works the same way.

Will it reduce the quality of my photo?

No. The subject is the original pixels, and the output is the same size as the input.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The model runs in your browser, so the photo stays on your device.

How long does it take?

A second or two once the model has downloaded. The first run downloads about 87 MB, once.

How much does it cost?

Three credits per photo. New accounts get 100 free.

Can I blur the background of several photos?

One at a time here; the batch editor handles background changes and marketplace frames for many photos.

Is this the same as portrait mode?

It produces the same look — a sharp subject on a soft background — but from any photo, after it was taken.

What formats are supported?

JPG, PNG and WEBP up to 10 MB in; a high-quality JPG out.
