Etsy photo size 2026 — plus Amazon and eBay, resized for you

The safe Etsy photo size in 2026 is a square of at least 2000 pixels — and Amazon and eBay each want something different again. Pick the marketplace and the photo comes back at its recommended size with the product found, scaled and centred: pure white and 85% fill for Amazon, a clean square for eBay, Etsy and Shopify, and the right shape for Instagram and Pinterest.

How it works

Three steps, nothing to learn.

Upload, let it run, download. The editor opens with your image already loading.

Step 01

Drop the photo in

Any product photo, whatever its shape or size.

Step 02

Choose the marketplace

Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, Instagram or Pinterest — and white, or the photo’s own background.

Step 03

Download

A file at the platform’s size with the product where a buyer’s eye lands.

Why it is different

Not just resized — composed.

An ordinary resizer squeezes the whole photo into a box. This finds the product and builds the frame around it.

The product, centred

An AI model finds where the product is, then scales and centres it — so a product shot off to one side still lands in the middle.

Amazon’s main-image rule

A 2000-pixel square on pure white with the product filling 85% of the frame, which is what Amazon asks for on a main image.

Six presets

Amazon 2000², eBay 1600², Etsy 2000², Shopify 2048², Instagram 1080 × 1350 and Pinterest 1000 × 1500.

Keep the photo’s own background

Choose “keep” and the photo is smart-cropped around the product; where that would cut the product off, the edges are extended softly instead of showing bars.

A shadow on white

On white, a floor shadow is drawn from the product’s outline so it does not look like it is floating.

Private

It all runs in your browser; the photo is never uploaded.

Made for

Who it is for.

Zyvavo is built by someone who sells on Etsy and eBay, so these are the jobs it was made for first.

Selling on several marketplaces

One photo, a version for each platform, without remembering six different size rules.

Amazon sellers

Main images that pass the white-background and fill rules the first time.

Etsy and Shopify shops

Square, sharp, consistently framed product photos across the whole shop.

Social promotion

The same product in Instagram’s 4:5 and Pinterest’s 2:3 without awkward crops.

Straight answers

What it handles well — and where it struggles.

No tool is perfect, and any page claiming otherwise is selling you something. Here is roughly where the line sits.

Reliable

One product in the photo

A single item with some space around it frames perfectly on every preset.

Usually fine

Long or tall products

A rolled poster on a square frame will be smaller, because it is scaled to fit the long side. That is correct, but check it reads well.

Hard

Sets and groups

Several items photographed together are treated as one product. If the model misses one, the frame centres on the rest.

Listing photos that sell

Five things worth knowing.

What the presets do not decide for you.

  • Shoot with room around the product. Framing works best when nothing is cut off at the edges of the original.
  • Use white for the main image, the photo for the rest. Marketplaces favour white first images; lifestyle shots belong in the extra slots.
  • Start from a sharp photo. Framing can make a product bigger in the frame; a soft photo shows it more. Run the upscaler first on small images.
  • Keep one preset per shop. The same fill and size across every listing makes search results look tidy.
  • Do many at once. The batch editor applies a marketplace frame to up to 50 photos in one go.
3 Credits per image

New accounts start with 100 credits free — 33 framed photos — with no card and no subscription. An AI model finds the product, which is why this costs three.

Questions

Answered.

What size should Amazon product photos be?

Amazon recommends images of at least 1,000 pixels on the longest side so zoom works, with a pure white background and the product filling 85% of the frame on the main image. The Amazon preset produces a 2000 × 2000 file that meets all of that.

What is the best image size for Etsy listings?

A square of at least 2000 pixels is a safe choice: sharp on zoom and unaffected by Etsy’s square thumbnail crop. That is what the Etsy preset makes.

What size are eBay photos?

eBay recommends 1600 pixels on the longest side. The eBay preset makes a 1600 × 1600 square on white.

What about Shopify?

Shopify recommends 2048 × 2048 square images for products, which is the Shopify preset.

How is this different from the resizer?

The resizer changes a whole photo to exact dimensions. Marketplace frames finds the product and builds the frame around it — centred, at the right fill, on white or on its own background.

Can I keep my own background?

Yes. Choose “keep the photo’s own” and it is cropped around the product instead of placed on white.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The model runs in your browser; only the credit is recorded on our side.

How much does it cost?

Three credits per photo. New accounts get 100 free.

Can I frame a whole catalogue?

Yes — the batch editor takes up to 50 photos and frames them all for the marketplace you choose.

Do platform rules change?

They do, occasionally. The presets follow each platform’s published recommendations as of this page’s date; check the platform if a listing is rejected.
